举个英美语言的差异：table作为动词，意思正相反。二战谈判时，美国人气急败坏地对英国人说：“It's such a fine proposal. Why do you have to table it?” 英国人答道：“Exactly because it's a fine proposal, we want to table it.” 后来他们才明白，by table 美国人意思是搁置，英国人意思是放在桌上讨论。
